ONOMO Durban is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant and bar. This role involves team leadership, service excellence, and administrative support, with a strong focus on guest satisfaction and business performance.
Key Responsibilities Include
Operational Management:
• Supervise daily front-of-house operations across the restaurant and bar
• Ensure exceptional guest service and handle service recovery where necessary
• Coordinate between kitchen and service teams to maintain smooth workflows
Team Supervision & Training:
• Support recruitment and training of restaurant staff
• Monitor staff performance and provide coaching and development
• Foster a positive and motivated work environment
Sales & Revenue Support:
• Assist with the implementation of sales strategies and promotional activities
• Monitor revenue and assist with achieving monthly sales targets
• Encourage upselling and customer engagement to boost average spend
Administrative & Technical Duties:
• Ensure accurate use of Micros POS and reporting tools
• Contribute to monthly reports, inventory management, and cost control
• Ensure adherence to ONOMO Hotels’ procedures and standards
Health, Safety & Compliance:
• Maintain compliance with hygiene, safety, and environmental regulations
• Promote a culture of health and safety awareness within the team
Qualifications & Competencies Required
• 2–5 years of proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role in F&B
• Strong knowledge of restaurant and bar operations
• Proficiency with Micros and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience in managing or supporting P&L responsibilities
